The Role:

MC+A is looking to expand our team with an opening for Technical Consultant.  Your primary responsibility will be working on our managed services customers' requests through our support desk. Additionally, you will occasionally support active MC+A projects. You will be responsible for the day-to-day care and nurturing of the solutions MC+A implemented for clients, focusing on administrating, refining, and supporting search-based initiatives and their deployment of Machine Learning & AI (Artificial Intelligence) technologies. The ideal candidate should be highly technical, have good problem-solving experience, have experience with logging tools used for researching and diagnosing issues, and understand how to support the implementation of new features according to established operational agreements.

You will be provided with training for Elasticsearch products and expected to gain certification as an Elastic Certified Engineer and other Elastic badges. Additionally, training will be available as well for other technologies (Lucidworks/Coveo/Sinequa/Algolia).

The Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting. Accurately assesses the customer's system issue or problem. Asking the customer contacts well thought out or detailed questions and carefully listening to the customer's responsibility to fully comprehend the need, product issue, and best avenue for resolving the problem.
  • Research customers’ system problems/issues to increase personal knowledge and familiarity with the supported product and to provide the highest level of support possible. Keep current on the most recent changes and/or upgrades to the customer’s system.
  • Identify and resolve application and service requests along with any other questions that may arise. Answer general application questions.
  • Provide appropriate personnel a precise understanding of the issues when a problem needs escalation to a higher support level.
  • Monitor incoming cases and emails and resolve issues and requests in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLA). Use available support tools to assist the customer and/or recreate the issue.
  • Participate in training programs to continuously improve product knowledge and service skills.
  • May assist in training new employees or serve as the go-to person for team members.
  • May manage hardware capacity and performance and assess hardware needs.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and operational duties such as:
    • Performance Monitoring, Tuning, and Optimization 
    • Relevancy and performance tuning 
    • Troubleshooting operational issues 
    • Monitoring services 
    • Application backup/restores 
    • Setting up new environments 
    • Analytics on usage/performance 
    • Annual Elastic Products Review 
    • Health Checks 
  • Technical documentation of the solution
  • Be available during normal business hours and off-hours for urgent issues (project launches, production outages, calls with APAC (Asia Pacific))


  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience (preferably in Computer Science or Engineering)
  • 0-5 years of experience developing software.
  • Strong English language communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Search Technologies (Elasticsearch, Coveo, Lucidworks, Algolia, etc.)
  • Programming Technologies (Java/Spring, NodeJS, Python)
  • Logstash/Kibana/Observability
  • Source Control (Git Preferred)
  • HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and web-application technologies
  • Security Protocols (OAuth, Web Authentication)
  • Documentation (System Specifications, Configurations)
